Building a movement for all people in Clatsop County, Oregon to live, work, play, learn and age in communities that support health, equity, and optimal quality of life.
Place Matters Clatsop County
Place Matters Clatsop County is informed by the Place Matters Oregon project, which acknowledges the intersection of place and health. It’s the understanding that our physical, mental and emotional health is tied to where we exist in communities and that our ability to access services like fresh food, outdoor community spaces, health care and safe walking corridors impact our overall health outcomes. Place Matters Clatsop County started in 2019 out of mutual interest between various community partners in seeking better ways to ensure healthy outcomes for all of our residents.
“The vision of the Public Health Division of the Oregon Health Authority is to ensure the lifelong health of all people in Oregon. Our mission is to promote health and prevent the leading causes of death, disease and injury in our state. We do this by creating environments, policies, and systems that support healthy communities and wellness for everyone, such as access to healthy food, physical activity, immunizations, safe water and clean air.”
By hosting this free, community event each year, we hope to bring more voices together to celebrate the strengths in our community and identify and take action on opportunities for growth. So come, take a seat at the table. We want to hear your story!
